The Richard Hart Trophy - 2017-2018 EGHA Coach of the Year.
At Edmonton Girls Hockey we are fortunate to have some of the best coaches in the province. Some are parents, many are not. Some are male, some are female, but they all have one thing in common - they are GREAT VOLUTEERS and we salute them all.
The Richard Hart Trophy will be awarded to the EGHA coach of the year at the end of every season. Nominate your coach by writing an email and telling us why you think he or she is the best coach. Tell us what makes your coach special and why they deserve their name on the trophy. The nomination is not limited to head coaches, assistants may be nominated. Submissions may come from parents or players. A panel will review all nominations and decide a winner. The selected coach will be honoured at the EGHA AGM and a photo of the winner will also be posted on the EGHA website.
The deadline for submitting your nomination letter is 11pm, Tuesday, April 24th.
About Richard Hart: Mr. Hart has volunteered with EGHA for many years. He does not have children that play hockey but he has coached many teams for us. He has also served as our league governor, discipline chair and has been an active volunteer on numerous committees over the years including coach selection. Mr. Hart is just a regular guy who does a significant amount of volunteer work for female hockey without calling a lot of attention to himself. As a tribute to this outstanding volunteer, we have named this trophy after him. He is one of our many unsung heroes.
EGHA AGM: 7-9, May 22, 2018, Location TBD
A reminder to fill out the Coach Evaluation as well. Survey closes April 7, and as in the previous seasons, we will draw one respondent from each category, Initiation to Midget. to win a $100 registration credit.
