There may be circumstances when a team's goaltender may not be available, and the team does not have an affiliate goaltender available either. In these cases, we can use the substitute goaltender process. Goalies can sub in for a team at the same level of hockey or a higher category/division of hockey. Approval is required for all goaltenders to be substitutes. Once approved, a substitute goalie must be marked as SUB on the official gamesheet.
If you are unsure of this process, please check in with your category director or the registrar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
