Greetings to the 2017-18 Season and the Evaluations Process. Below you will find the drills used in our skills program as well as the schedules for players and goalies.
All divisions will follow a similar format - the first ice time is a SKILLS session, where players demonstrate their skating, shooting, stick-handling and passing skills, amongst others. They will then be placed in a series of three SCRIMMAGES where they will be evaluated on all aspects of the game relevant to their age group - for example we expect more team and positional play in bantam and midget than we do in novice. Players may move from group to group based on their results are each skate. Information on their scores will be posted on www.hockeyevaluations.com shortly after each round advising of their score in the previous skate and which group they will skate with next. PLEASE use that website for your updates on ice times - and also please allow time for things to be updated.
And please remember - we are all volunteers and most of us also have kids in evaluations as well as full-time jobs. Allow us a fair time to reply to any of your questions.
James Wilson, Evaluations Chair
**************** REQUEST FOR A CO-CHAIR for 2018-19 EVALUATIONS ****************
FYI - This is my second year as evaluations chair. I am interested in doing this one more year but would like to begin the process of involving someone new to be a co-chair for 2018-19. If you are interested in helping EGHA out with our evaluation process, just send me a note and we can discuss the role and its responsibilities. Thanks for your interest.
2017-18 Evaluation Drills for Players
** If you are wondering what happened to the drills - we have taken them down from the website due to the proprietary interests of our evaluation companies. If you wish to be reminded of what they were, please contact email@example.com and request a copy. Thanks. ****
