EGHA coaches are required to complete appropriate certification with Hockey Alberta. The following information will help you understand the requirements and where the courses are offered. Please refer to the Hockey Alberta Coaching Requirements page for the most up-to-date information.
U7 and U9 Requirements:

Note: EGHA requires at least one female bench staff for every EGHA team (two are recommended). Female bench staff can be a head coach, assistant coach or female player assistant. Female player assistants are still required to complete Respect in Sport Activity Leader and it is recommended the female player assistant completes the Safety Program.
Deadline for certification
All EGHA coaches, assistant coaches, FPA (female player assistants) are required to complete the necessary certifications by November 15 of the current season.
Coaches and bench staff will register for their courses individually. Once training has been completed, receipts can be submitted to treasurer@egha.ab.ca for reimbursement. Head coaches are eligible for 100% reimbursement for required courses and assistant coaches are eligible for 50% reimbursement for required courses. EGHA does not reimburse for Respect in Sport Activity Leader.
