Volunteer Deposit Program


Overview of 2018-2019 Volunteer Deposit Program:

 

  • Every family is required to complete volunteer commitments for 2018-2019.  

  • THREE volunteer commitments are required per family.

  • Each volunteer commitment is worth $100.

  • ONE volunteer commitment is required per family with players registered in Initiation only (no players registered in novice through to midget).

  • There are no exemptions to the volunteer requirements.

  • There is no maximum number of commitments that a family can contribute to in a given year.

  • There is no roll-over of volunteer commitments from year to year.

  • Volunteer commitments that are eligible for registration credits (such as EGHA Casino) do not count towards this volunteer commitment requirement.

  • Families who do not complete volunteer commitments will have a $100- 300 debit (per family) applied to the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) profile(s) of their registered player(s).

    • EGHA will no longer be collecting post-dated cheques for volunteer commitments.

    • If you have one player registered with EGHA, the $100-300 debit will be applied to that player.  If you have more than one player registered with EGHA, the $100-300 debit will be split evenly amongst the players.

    • The $100 - 300 debit is due immediately (an invoice will be sent), or will be collected at the next registration and must be paid prior to any new registrations, transfers, tryouts, affiliation shares or attendance at ID camps being approved.

 

Opportunities that count for 3 Volunteer Commitments for 2018-2019 are:

  • EGHA Executive Board Members

  • EGHA Category Director

  • Head Coach (one per team, entire season)   

  • Team Manager (if one manager on team, entire season)     

 

Opportunities that count for 2 Volunteer Commitments for 2018-2019 are:

  • Head Coach (if split between 2 coaches, entire season)

  • Assistant Coach or Bench Mom (maximum 5 per team, entire season)

  • Team Manager (if two managers on team, entire season)

  • EGHA Committee Chair or Member (Fundraising, apparel, coach selection, etc.)

  • Jersey Parent (home or away for entire season, bring to games and launder)

  • Team Treasurer (entire season)

 

Opportunities that count for 1 Volunteer Commitments for 2018-2019 are:

  • Parent Liaison (one per team, entire season)

  • 4 optional positions each team can use as they see fit.

  • Tournaments, Social Liaison limit one per team

  • Timekeeping or scorekeeping (5 games)

  • Evaluation Volunteer (minimum of 2 shifts)

    • Check-in table, timekeeper, bench help, on-ice support

  • EGHA Picture Day (on shift basis)

  • Minor Hockey Week Volunteer (on shift basis)

    • Timekeeper, scorekeeper, checker

  • Special Events as communicated by EGHA (on shift basis)

    • May include Provincials, World Girls’ Hockey Day, or other events

  • Discovery, Jr. Timbits and Sr. Timbits Jamboree (minimum one shift)

    • will be offered first to initiation families.
