Candace Whitmore | Director | u7@egha.ab.ca |
Vacant |
Welcome to the 2022/2023 U7 Timbits hockey program. My name is Candace Whitmore and I am one of your directors. We are currently seeking out a 2nd director to help with the role for the upcoming season. Please e-mail u7@egha.ab.ca if you're interested in helping out in this role.
General Information to Note
Our U7 group is made up of discovery (4 year-olds), junior Timbits (5 year-olds) and senior Timbits (6 year-olds). Our entire U7 group will practice together each week (typically Saturday). Our senior and potentially junior skaters will play games against other U7 teams (typically on Sundays).
Practices are divided according to player skill level to ensure players achieve the highest development possible.
There are no evaluations for U7 players but we will be offering development skates in September as follows.
SUN | 9/11/2022 | BHA | 09:15 | 10:15 | 1.00 | U7 Skate |
SUN | 9/18/2022 | GLA | 12:15 | 01:15 | 1.00 | U7 Skate |

Hockey Equipment
Please ensure you have the right equipment for your daughter, she will not be permitted on the ice without it.
You can have a look at https://www.omha.net/page/show/2796144-equipment for a summary of what's required.
EGHA will provide your daughter with a practice jersey, game jersey (as needed) and socks for the season. Game jerseys must be handed back at the end of the season.
Please ensure your daughter has a clearly labelled (full name) water bottle. We recommend a water bottle with a built-in straw to help get through the helmet cage. Also ensure your daughters name is on the front of her helmet (can be done with masking tape).
Coaches/Bench Staff
If you are interested in being a coach, assistant coach or female player assistant (FPA) please fill out the coaching form:
Coaches and FPA are also required to take the Respect in Sports - Activity Leader course. After submitting a request to coach or be an FPA, you will be provided more information by EGHA.
Further and very important: Players CANNOT go on the ice without meeting all the registration requirements, especially Respect in Sport Parent. Please ensure you have completed it, and come ready to provide your certificate number if our records indicate your certification is incomplete or expired. You can check your Respect in Sport parent account to verify:

Other Volunteer Positions
At the U7 level, we have many positions that must be filled by parent volunteers. These include Jersey Parent, Scorekeeper, Team Manager, Team Treasurer etc. Please advise if you would be interested in filing one of these positions and remember that the team can't operate without volunteers.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the rink!
