Available Ice
For available ice, please contact the Ice Allocator at ice@egha.ab.ca.
Ice purchased above and beyond your normal assigned ice will be billed to teams at a cost of $180 per hour.
Ice Allocation Process
Extra ice can be purchased from the Ice Allocation (ice@egha.ab.ca) when it is offered. The Ice Allocator will send an email at 8:30am on Tuesdays (this can vary, depending on the week) to offer up ice that is available for purchase. Ice is allocated on a first response, first serve allocation. If you do not have access to your emails during that time frame, please ensure the Ice Allocator has another email address to include on emails so that someone from your team can respond if you are looking for extra ice.
Extra ice may also be purchase directly from Hockey Edmonton by visiting the Hockey Edmonton Available Ice page. You will be required to enter your contact information, team number, etc. The EGHA Ice Allocator will be copied on the email response from Hockey Edmonton confirming your purchase so that you will be invoiced accordingly.
You are allowed to share or trade ice with another EGHA team. However, if no team shows up on that ice surface, the team that is allocated the ice or who purchased the ice will be responsible for that timing. EGHA is still invoiced for "no show" ice. No shows can also result in EGHA's ice allocation being reduced in future seasons. If two teams are purchasing ice together, you may let the Ice Allocator know this and the invoice can be split into two teams.
The Ice Allocator will share a spreadsheet regularly with teams to show all allocated and purchased ice. Please ensure you review this spreadsheet each time you receive it to ensure there are no errors. Ice purchased by your team will be marked as Outside Purchase. Freebee ice will be noted on the spreadsheet as well. Freebee ice may offer up ice from time to time that is not claimed by another team to ensure it is used.
Ice invoices are due upon receipt. They may be paid by cheque or by etransfer to payments@egha.ab.ca (no password is required, but please note your team number and team name in the etransfer).
Questions about this process can be referred to ice@egha.ab.ca.
