A little about us!

Edmonton Girls Hockey Association (EGHA) is a city-wide girls hockey association, incorporated on September 20th, 1993. We focus on giving each player the chance to develop her skills and have fun in a safe, supportive environment. We had 24 teams in the 2016-2017 season from Novice to Junior, ranging in level of skill and competition. .

Where does my player fit in?

First and foremost, we have our Initiation Program for 4, 5, and 6 year olds (for the 2018-2019 season this includes girls born in 2012, 2013, and 2014). We offer professional instruction from High Tempo Hockey at this level, based on Hockey Canada's Initiation Program Manual, from local female athletes along with parent volunteers coaching on the ice.

Discovery Program - 4 Year Olds, 2014 birth year, $100
Designed for brand new skaters learning to skate in hockey equipment along with the introduction of some hockey skills through the season
Non-competitive teams are formed as groups of 10-12 players who play on a shared cross-ice hockey setup
All sessions are 60 minutes once per week, held on the weekend
Timbits jersey provided
All players participate in the Timbits Festival (December) and Timbits Jamboree (March)

Junior Timbits - 5 Year-Olds, 2013 birth year, $125
Players can register in Junior Timbits even if they have not participated in the Discovery Program.
Focuses on the further development of skating with the introduction of technical skills such as puck-handling, passing and shooting.
Non-competitive teams are formed as groups of 10-12 players who play on a shared cross-ice hockey setup
All sessions are 60 minutes once per week, held on the weekend
Timbits jersey provided
All players participate in the Timbits Festival (December) and Timbits Jamboree (March)

Senior Timbits - 6 Year-Olds, 2012 birth year, $175
Players can register in Senior Timbits even if they have not completed the Discovery or the Junior Timbits Program
Focuses on the development of technical skills ( including skating, puck-handling, passing, and shooting) with an introduction to individual tactics
Non-competitive teams are formed as groups of 10-12 players who play on a cross-ice hockey setup
All sessions are 60 minutes twice per week, held on the weekend - 1-hour shared ice Skill Development Session, and 1- hour Small Area Games Session
Timbits jersey provided
All players participate in the Timbits Festival (December) and Timbits Jamboree (March)
